MEET THE TEAM

MARTIN SHENTON – Managing Director

I’ve been in the film and stunt industry for over 25 years and when the opportunity arose to buy 93 Regent Road, an idea was born. Regent Park Studios was an opportunity to set up not only a stunt school but also to service the local community with something fun, entertaining and energetic. Twelve years later and we are still here and providing a range of activities from Trampoline to Archery. There are many disciplines in being a stunt coordinator and have high level qualifications in Tae Kwon Do, shooting, Trampolining and many more, I am the highest qualified safety officer in the UK stunt industry (this includes risk assessing and health and safety) for which I consult on at a high level. I believe that the only way to get the most out of life is to look upon it as an adventure.

 

JASON LUNN – Centre Manager

As the Centre Manager here at Regent Park Studios my key role is to manage the staff, organisation and keep paperwork up-to-date. My qualifications include: management, working with children and young people, archery and Shooting Range Conducting Officer through Pentathlon GB. I am also the Safeguarding Officer and general go to guy at the centre. Most of the qualifications I have achieved have been whilst working here and I love the challenge of undertaking a new learning process. Being instrumental in the day-to-day running of the centre it’s important that I’m a good listener and stay thorough in my work. I like to think that I am a patient and fair person, who is fun to be around. My team does say I have a “Dark Side” when it comes to humour and should never be allowed to drink high caffeine energy drinks.

 

THOMAS PATON – Sports Centre Manager

As the Sports Centre Manager my key roles are as Trampoline Instructor and Centre Event manager. Training and learning is part of what Regent Park Studios is about and through the centre gained an NVQ qualification in Children & Young People, Level 1 and 2 Safeguarding and an NVQ in Business Management. I’m proud to have been nominated for the Community Sports Award three years in a row having won it in 2015. I really love helping who young people attend the centre to meet their personal goals. The Streetwise Stunt Team is something I enjoy being apart of and we have performed at many events in the area. I consider myself reliable, and always wiling to work for the benefit of others. Outside the centre I love spending time with my family and souping up my car.

 

LOUISE SHENTON – Centre Director

One of my key jobs is running and managing our busy Afterschool Club. Originally from Scotland I moved to Morecambe aged seven. I started my working life as a hairdresser after completing my City & Guilds in at Morecambe College. Sports are my first love and have done extensive training in several disciplines: Fencing level 6 (Foil, Sabre and Epee), Trampoline level 10, 5^th Dan black belt in TaeKwonDo and I’ve a Range Officer Certificate. Dealing with young people & children is always challenging and I’ve reached NVQ L3 in childcare, level 2 Safeguarding and I’m the nominated Safeguarding Officer. Recently I completed L3 (AET) Award in Education & Training. It’s a busy life here at the centre and being married to Martin and having 2 wonderful children (Reece & Lydia) makes the whole thing complete.

 

EMER-JAY VAN-GILLS – Centre Assistant

My role is as a ‘Bouncing Back’ key-worker, this involves facilitating our alternative education package for disengaged young people. We work on many aspects from building resilience to anger management and watching them develop and grow in confidence is very rewarding. Other jobs include helping out on activity days, in the Afterschool Club and. am often involved in creating special effects make-up & prosthetics for the stunt team films, shows and events. My qualifications include NVQ Level 3 Working with Children & Young People, Level 3 Education & Assessing, Level 3 Substance Use & Misuse, Safeguarding & Level 4 National Diploma in Performing Arts and Specialist Make-up. Every day is full day when you are a mother of 4 and have 5 Chihuahuas for pets. Regent Park Studios is a fun environment with a fantastic team and a great place to work.

 

ANTHONY KELLY – Media Manager

As the Media Manager at Regent Park Studios it’s my job to make sure that pictures are taken, our website is up to date and we have current video content. It sounds easy, but not always. I started my career as an actor and moved into film production many years before starting my own company Quid In Shrapnel Productions whose clients have ranged from the NHS to Nokia. I have a BA in English & Drama as well as an ONC in business studies. Through the centre I’ve complete the Safeguarding Levels 2 and recently an Award in Education and Teaching. Recently, I wrote a book and course on ‘Time Management’ a subject that has amused, confused and helped me over the years. Hailing from God’s County (Yorkshire) it is always a challenge working here in Morecambe with so many Lancastrians!

 

REECE SHENTON – Instructor

I’m one of the Centre Instructors and take pride in sharing my knowledge of the subject I teach such as Trampolining and Tae Kwon Do. I also organise and run our fun and enjoyable Lazer Maze Games as well as help in the running of our Afterschool Club. I’m a qualified Gym instructor and have a Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do. I’ve reached level 2 in Safeguarding and I’m currently working towards my NVQ level 2 in Children & Young People. The centre has been involved in many local Community Festivals and Carnivals where I’ve been able to indulge in my love of stunt re-enactments such as stage fighting and fire burns. They are exciting and challenging to do and the only time I worried at these events is if I haven’t been able to check my hair!

 

TOM DONNELLY – Instructor

My role here at Regent Park Studios is as an Instructor, I teach trampolining, Free Running and help out with the Afterschool Club and Bouncing Back Programme. There’s a lot going on at the centre and one of the things we run is Nerfing and Lazer-tag birthday parties. I’m undergoing my NVQ Level 2 Working with Children & Young People and have a Safeguarding Level 2 certificate. Qualifications have significant importance at the centre and are always ongoing here, so I’m constantly learning new things to suit and improve my role. Through the Streetwise Stunt Team, we puts on stunt shows and events and this I find fun and reward. I am one of two Toms at the centre, I’m the one with the beard, but if you need anything shout ‘Tom’ and one of us will come running.
